How playing video games can make you rich?

E-sports has become popularly known worldwide. It is the new trend of hobby, leisure and entertainment for the new generations. League of Legends, Super Smash Bros., Hearthstone, World of Warcraft, Dota 2, Counterstrike, and Fortnite are just some of the most played games in e-sports. Most gamers have become addictive to the game that it became more than their hobby, their passion for the game turn their supposedly hobby into their lifestyle.

Most professional e-sport players can earn from $25,000 to $1 million dollars. It sounds cool and really awesome to be a gamer. Imagine, just sitting in front of a monitor and playing a game and at the end of the day you get a load of  cash in your pocket. But, nothing ever comes in easy,  nothing ever happens overnight. So, what are the secret of this e-gamers? how can playing video games make them rich?

According to William Collis on his interview on Ted talks,  millions of players around the world has been competing in gaming centers like helix, and other large gaming tournaments, like the League of Legends World Championships which can reach over 100 million viewers online which is twice the average of Super Bowl viewers.

He stated on his interview that despite all the phenomenon, the skills required to be a pro gamer still don't get much respect. Why? Most parents would love their kids to experience the traditional way of playing, they would love for their kids to experience the generation they grew up in. They want to hound their gamer-loving kids to go outside, do something useful, take up a real sport. Little do they know that it takes real skill to be good at competitive video games.

So, what are the skills needed to win? According to Collis, The skills needed to win a battle in Fortnite, League of Legends, Rocket League, and some of today's most popular e-sports, first thing, is knowing what the game is all about.

Every game is different. A different arena, a different battlefield. A different opponent and a different power.

Collis stated that League of Legends is about controlling a magical champion as they siege an opposing fortress with spells and abilities while Fortnite is about parachuting into 100-person free-for-all on a tropical island paradise and Rocket League is soccer with cars and while every game might be different for him it only has three common category of skill you need in order to gain victory.

According to Collis, The first type of skill required to master e-sports is mechanical skill, sometimes referred to as micro. Mechanical skill governs activating and aiming in-game abilities with pixel-perfect accuracy.

Gamers regularly achieve APMs, or actions per minute, of 300 or more, which is roughly one command every fifth of a second and in particularly mechanically demanding e-sports, like StarCraft, top pros achieve APMs of 600 or more, allowing them to literally control entire armies one unit at a time. - William Collis

Collis described compared e-sports to Super Mario Brothers, but, instead of controlling one Mario, there are now two hundred, and instead of playing on one screen, gamers are playing across dozens, each set to a different level or stage. And now Mario or Luigi can't just run or jump, but he has new powers, teleportations, cannon blast, and all sorts of spells and enchantments that can easily be activated with split-second timing.

Now, the second category of skill required to master e-sports is strategic skill, sometimes called macro. And this governs the larger tactical choices gamers make. It is about planning attacks and counterattacks and manipulate the digital battlefield to your advantage.

Now, the last category of skill required to be good at e-sports is leadership, sometimes referred to as shot calling. E-sports pros are constantly in private voice-chat communications with their teammates, supplemented by a system of in-game pings. This is what allows a team of League of Legends pros to coordinate a spectacular barrage of five-man ultimates, flashing in to capitalize on a minor mispositioning by their opponents. And leadership skill is also what allows game captains to rally their teammates in moments of crisis and inspire them to make one last risky all-in assault on the opposing base.

E-sport gamers don't just compete, earn or win big but they set records. World records.

So, to conclude, e-sports and video games deserve a little more respect. Because in our modern world, Our society is changing. Technology is fundamentally infiltrating every aspect of our daily lives, transforming everything from how we work to how we fall in love. Why should sports be any different?

William Collis could not have explained it better. Modern-day sports might be different from how traditional sports is, but it’s just a different ball game in a different field, yet the feeling, the excitement, the victory, the bond and the moments are all still the same.

And if you want to get rich or earn money in playing e-sports, It doesn’t matter what game you play but whatever game you choose, just keep on playing. It won’t happen overnight but if you do choose to press start, It’s not going to be an easy up, down, up, down, left, right, left, right, A, B because winning isn’t just about the patterns or the strategies, it is about how one perseveres.
